the thinking process...

I feel like i'm beginning to think now like an african; why?? well for a start, when i just got here and will go to the market and behind my mind i'll be converting the local prices to dolars and gushhhh everyting is sooo cheap.......and i'll just pick and throw anything "i want"in the shopping cart. I don't remember ever shopping like that in DC or NYC. Such is Life!
Anyways, so, after learning how to count the coins & completely wipe out anything to do with $ on my mind, i'm not only keen with what i buy but also found out all the local joints where you can actually buy some cool stuffs & bagain as well, and also practice Kiswhahili. Now the price tagged supermarkets like Nakumatt is just like supermarkets in the US. You don't bargain for anything.
SO, if you don't mind mingling, pushing, bargaining, forcing ya way and 3x careful from pick pocketing, welcome to Kiboye Market!!! This market reminds me so much of Commencial Ave or Marche Central in Y'de;Cameoon. You don't go to this particular market with a purse or handbag! Not to talk of fancy jeweries and el. But you must somehow manage to carry your money on yourself for purchases. Tricky stufff. And I always blend in well with everyone except that i don't speak nor undertand the language whih everybody assume i do. So, I wore this pant with numerous pockets and i distributed my money in all the various pockets n same with my friend. We're walking through the busy market where you just kind of twist your body to move along and in the mist of all this, as expected, is the breeding ground for all the pick pocketers. My friend is walking right infront of me and i see this young boy pretending he's trying to get by sneak just his fingers into my friend's pocket but unfortunately she coming from Thialand as well must be used to such and her pocket was very deep indeed. She almost grapped the kid's hand but before u turn, he's vanished.
Now, what is really sad with these kids is they don't use the money to buy food or clothes or anyhing beneficial BUT they rather buy Glue which they sniff all day long. It's very disturbing coz with the glue, these kids get high, don't get hungry and are just lost on the streets.....
